Hrabe and Storch-Hrabe Recordings? Jun 17, 1. Sep 4, Does anyone have a recording of someone or themselves playing these? It would be incredibly helpful!! Jun 18, 2. May 10, Saint Louis, MO. I work on them but don't have the stones to post a recording - I am hoping someone bites, though! Jun 20, 3. Me too, it just makes the learning process so much easier. Jun 21, 4. Feb 21, Cross Junction, VA. I made a practice track for a guy on the list a while ago using Finale to create an mp3 of the midi playback.
I don't have the time to do these. There has to be someone in the music department at your school that uses Finale or Sibelius. Jun 29, 5. I guess I'll ask around. Jun 29, 6. Aug 17, Denver, Co. Jul 7, 7. Jul 8, 8. Jul 9, 9. Jul 9, Jan 1, I would advise against providing a recording even if anyone has one.
Getting the music off the page is part of the excercise. To play it sonically correct without reading it, with poor technique, etc. It isn't music anyone wants to hear, it is music meant to teach you important aspects of playing double bass, reading being one of them. Jul 11, Do not insinuate that I cannot read music.
Also, I just wanted to hear it out of curiosity before I attempted to learn it. I'm going to assume that it's pretty common to want to hear something played by someone else before you learn something. If this were just an etude I was learning for practice, wouldn't have asked for a recording, but since it's for an AUDITION, it's a lot more important for it to be correct.
But obviously that is a HUGE crime around here, so forget it. Jul 12, Jun 15, Ventura, CA. Cassadie, There's no reason, in spite of opinions stated here, that you shouldn't hear someone play the etudes before or while you're learning them. I assume you have a teacher? Get them to play some of it for you. If you don't have a teacher, you're going to need one to learn these etudes.
